Theresa Beach's Obituary
Theresa Beach, age 97, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 peacefully in her home. She was born to the late Lewis Noland and Janie Noland of Cooper, Texas on October 29, 1918. After attending schools in Cooper, Theresa moved to Dallas to work at the American Aviation Company during World War II. Over the years, her career would include Bethlehem Steel in Beaumont, Texas (1949) and Mosher Steel in Houston, Texas (1955). In 1949, she married her husband, Dan Beach. In the late 1960’s, the couple returned to Dallas and built their dream home in the Buckner Terrace area where she lived for 38 years. Retiring from Trailways Bus Line in 1987, Theresa became an avid homemaker and gardener. In addition, she was an active member of her Sunday School class at Buckner Baptist Church and a friend to all who knew her. In 2006, because of deteriorating health, she sold her home and took up residence with her daughter and son-in-law in Coppell, Texas. A devoted and loving mother and grandmother, Theresa was known to her family as Momma T. She was a special lady who will be forever loved and missed. Theresa is survived by her daughter, Selma Sue Stinson; her step-son, Dennis Beach; her grandsons Steven Long, Mark Stinson, and Scott Stinson; her granddaughter, Jill Hendrix; her step granddaughter, Susan Beach Barris; as well as great grandchildren; Sarah Long Mix, Brooke Long, Blake Hendrix, Tiffany Stinson Long, Noah Stinson, great-great grandchildren; Ryder Mix, Easton Mix, Stormie Stinson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Theresa is preceded in death by her husband, Dan E Beach; and her sisters, Juanita Hewgley and Rowena Milton. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, January 14th at Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX in The Wildwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Special thanks from the family to her caregiver, Dixie, as well as the staff at Vitas Hospice for their care and support.
