Theresa M. Brandstetter's Obituary
Theresa Mary (Pat Barden) Brandstetter peacefully passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Margaret Manda, as well as by four siblings who always called her "Pat". Widowed twice, she was also preceded in death by her husband Ken Barden, and her husband Joe Brandstetter. Pat is survived by her loving children: Terri (Bill) McClung, Ken Barden, Mike (Eileen) Barden, Laura (Ritchie) Barden-Gabbei, Lee Barden, and Rose (Jeffrey) Longoria, along with her stepchildren Anna (Rusty) Kurtz and Bill Brandstetter. She leaves behind a legacy cherished by 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Pat dedicated herself to education, spending 16 years teaching at St. Paul the Apostle in Richardson and 2 years at St. Thomas Aquinas in Dallas. Her passion for teaching touched countless lives.
Pat found joy in music, dance, and staying active. She challenged herself by participating in her first marathon at 66, embodying a spirit of determination and vitality. She spent cherished moments running along the trails of White Rock Lake, where she forged friendships and encouraged others on the trails. Sharing her passion for fitness, she even stepped in as a sittercise instructor where she brought people together through exercise and camaraderie. Pat's presence radiated warmth and encouragement, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.
A Rosary will be held at 10 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on April 26 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Richardson. Following the graveside service at Restland in Dallas, a reception at St. Paul Community Center will provide an opportunity for friends and family to honor and celebrate Pat's life.
