Thi Hai Jackson's Obituary
Thi Hai (pronounced, tee-high) Jackson, known as Hai Jackson was surrounded by her children when she peacefully passed away on September 4, 2024, in Richardson, Texas. Thi Hai resided in the North Garland area for over 30-years. She is known for her love of her children and her Vietnamese infused cooking. Her life was full of wonderful and varied experiences.
Thi Hai was born in a little country village outside of Phan Thiết, near Saigon, now known as Ho Chi Minh City. She was the only child, whose parents passed on at an early age. During the war, Thi Hai worked on the army base where she met and married decorated army officer, Lt. Col. Lionel A. Jackson (dec.1989), then escaping in 1970 before the fall of Vietnam and stationing in Okinawa, Japan. Up until her final days, she experienced an abundance of love from the Buddhist community, her friends and always, her children, the Jackson 5. She was preceded by her husband and grandson, Barry. She is survived by her 5 children, Shãn, Letitia, Jeffrey, Michelle and Lorna; her 6 grandchildren, Jett, Edith, Gabrielle, Samuel, Aaron and Shayla; and 6 great-grandchildren, Dior, Lyric, Jordan, Jr., Leil’lah, Ja’kyran and Khamari.
A blended Christian and Buddhist service will be held on September 18, 2024, at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas with her final journey and resting place to the Huyền Quang Buddhist Temple in Fate, Texas.
