Mr. Thomas Wayne Chick's Obituary
Born in Dallas, TX in 1924 and passed away in Wills Point on September 17, 2007. Tom graduated from high school in El Monte, California. He served in the Army Air Force from 1943 to 1946 as an aviation mechanic, and then returned to Dallas to raise his 3 children. He began is career in sales with the family-owned business, Texas Electric. He also worked for Smith-Perry, Amfac, Watson Electric and continued to work until he was 83, affiliated with Landscape Lighting. He was a 50 year member of the Masons, and a member of the Elks and Shriners. He attended Lavon Drive Baptist Church. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend and was loved by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his father, Gordon R. Chick; mother, Helen Virginia Colnon; daughter-in-law, Debbie Everhart Chick; and granddaughter, Taylor Chick. He is survived by his wife, Dorthy L. Chick; children: daughters, Chris Chick Hilton and husband Steve, and Karen Chick Gonzalez and husband, Freddy, and son, Thomas (Tommy) Chick (all from East Texas); grandchildren, Shannon Balentine, Lisa and Thomas Haag, Olivia and Thomas McClean, Malia Gonzalez, and Laurel Chick; and great-grandchildren, Wade, Scott and Heather Balentine. Also surviving is Barbara Chick Barker and grandson-in-law, John Balentine.
