Thomas Michael Collerain's Obituary
Was born January 5, 1933 in Houston, Texas to John and Sue Collerain. Tom passed away suddenly on July 20, 2008 in Dallas. He served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956 and Reserves from 1956 to 1960. Tom graduated from the University of Houston. He married Alice Cook, from Corpus Christi, in 1962. His entire career was spent in the property and casualty insurance business, and he served as the President of American Eagle Insurance before retiring. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was most of all a true, gentle man. He spent the golden years traveling, visiting with his healthclub buddies, serving meals on wheels, sharing his culinary talents and being ‘Pop-Pop’. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John F. Collerain. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Alice, son David Victor Collerain of Atlanta, Georgia, daughter Beth Anne Teterud and husband Patrick and two adorable granddaughters, Samantha Ann and Emily Ann of Plano. Also surviving him is his sister Ann Monaghan and her husband John of Houston. Memorial service will be at 10AM Wednesday July 23, 2008 in Restland Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Visiting Nurses Association, 1440 West Mockingbird Lane Dallas, TX 75247.
