Thomas Henry Colley's Obituary
COLLEY, THOMAS HENRY Thomas Henry Colley, 85, of Van Alstyne, Texas, died on September 21, 2011 following several months of failing health. He was born on May 27, 1926 in Shreveport, Louisiana, to C.C. Colley and Claud Preslar. Tom was an excellent chef who enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, and loved reading and listening to music. Tom also enjoyed hunting trips with his friends in South Texas. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. After leaving the service, he embarked on a life-long career in sales in the music industry for several major record labels. Tom’s love of music and sports was a major influence in each of his son’s lives. He is survived by his sons David Colley and wife Pam of Richardson, Texas; Scott Colley and wife Zen of Amarillo, Texas; and Drake Colley and wife Jennifer of Van Alstyne, Texas. He was also the proud grandfather of Christopher, Ethan, William, Jessica and Tanner. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Thomas A. Colley in 2003, and by his sister, Jane Cochran, in 1991. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Restland Memorial Park.
