Thomas Edison Fryar's Obituary
FRYAR, THOMAS EDISON, (Hundaddy) passed away peacefully among family members and caring staff at the Hospice Austin Christopher House located in Austin, TX August 13, 2010. He was 92 years old, being just 6 days before his 93rd birthday. Born on August 19, 1917 in Dallas, TX, Tommy spent most of his life living in and around the Dallas area until moving to Spicewood, TX, in 2004. Tommy was one of 9 children (6 brothers & 3 sisters) born to William Forest Fryar and his Wife Ella. Tommy married Lois Burr in Dallas, TX on December 30, 1939 and raised three children, Samuel Aaron Burr, Mitzi Mary Burr Hunn, and Gail Fryar Cali. Tommy was a highly skilled land surveyor and worked his entire career mapping many of the suburban subdivisions and highways now located in Farmers Branch, Carrollton, Richardson, Plano, Allen, and the Colony. Tommy’s passion was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He also enjoyed fellowship in area bowling leagues and when time provided loved to fish. Tommy was always eager to gather the family, providing the warmth and love everyone called home. His sincere friendship and devotion to his family will be missed by all who knew him. Tommy is survived by his daughter Gail Cali and her husband Vince, son-in-law J.B. Hunn, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces and their children. He is preceded to heaven’s gates by his cherished wife Lois, his children Samuel Aaron Burr, Mitzi Mary Hunn, great grandchild Blake Hunn, as well as all of his siblings. Pallbearers will be David Slakey of Whitesboro, Gennaro Bonomo of Spicewood, Mike Hunn of Carrollton, Pat Hunn of Celina, Shain Hunn of Celina and Collin Hunn of Allen, TX. Visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home / Wildwood Chapel (www.restlandfuneralhome.com/location/about/facility/memorial_park_map.html) located at 9220 Restland Rd, Dallas, TX 75243 (635 / LBJ Freeway at Greenville Ave) at 11:30 AM on Tuesday August 17th. Memorial services will be at 12:30 PM to be followed by graveside services.
