My mother was Marguerite (Peggy), Tom's eldest sister. She was very fond of Tom. I was grateful when Tom and John made the trip to Jamestown February 17, 1999, to attend my mother's funeral. I remember Tom as a very gentile soul with a pleasant smile. A great family historian, he shared much family tree information with me. When my sister Georgia and I visited John, Doris, Tom and Margaret there in Texas some years ago, I remember how kind they all were and how they made me feel like I'd been there close to them all my life. I will miss Tom. I pray the Lord lifts your spirits and comforts you all as you mourn,reminisce, and remember how dear he was. Love, Paula

I loved my Uncle Tom and fortunately got to share some special times with him, Margaret and his family over the years. We both loved politics, history, the military, and gardening. And we had a mutual admiration for his father, my grandfather. Tom was a grand person. I will miss him. A loving niece, Georgia Cowley Osterman

I never had the privilege to have met Mr. Gaines but knowing his daughter Bridgett he must have been an exceptional person as she reflects many of the qualities I have read that Mr. Gaines embodied. My thoughts and prayers are with Margaret and Bridgett and the Gaines and Wagner Families in this difficult time. May you all know peace and that many thoughts are with you.

Althugh we havent Seen Tom in a few years our thoughts have always been positive memories. We were a young married couple living on Royal Crest in Richarson, Tx. When we were neighbors to Tom and Margaret, what a memory that is we couldn't have had nicer friends. All through these yars we have often thought of Tom & Margret.
