Thomas Devon Gossett's Obituary
Only child to Herndon Thomas and Aimee Lucretia Gossett, at age 9 he began piano lessons and enjoyed the piano all his life. He saw Wiley Post and Will Rogers depart from Renton Field on their ill-fated flight to Barrow, Alaska. Upon graduating from Renton High School, He enlisted immediately in the Navy as a gunner’s mate in the Pacific Theater from the Philippines and Australia to Adak, Alaska. After the war, he graduated from the University of Washington as a celebrated half-back playing in the backfleld with three All-Americans and earning a double B. A. in Business and Psychology. Although drafted by the Chicago Bears, he chose to embark on a successful business career manufacturing a private line of Hair Care Products called Bac Stat, subsequently ushering in Paul Mitchell and Vidal Sassoon. He loved his piano and singing Barbershop. He danced around the world with his wife and best friend Jeani, who never owned a pair of shoes she couldn’t dance in! He was a charter member of the Marilyn Meyers Dance Connection Club, his smile infectious and spontaneous laughter contagious. He was a great salesman and never met a stranger twice, a magician and phenomenal card player, also a Bridge Master. She calls me Babe.” None better and darn few as good , the “Men’s Social Club” at the Denton Regional Hospital Physical Therapy kept him happy and dancing with shares in a better future for the past five years.
