Thomas Earl Laurence's Obituary
Thomas Earl Laurence was reunited with his Heavenly Father on December 9, 2021, after a lengthy illness.
A grave side service for family and friends will be held at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 2021.
Memorials: The family has requested that en lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in his memory to the National Multiple Schlerosis Society at https://www.nationalmssociety.org/Donate, the Wounded Warrior Project at https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate, or a favorite charity of donor’s choice.
Tom was born to William and Earlynn Laurence in Dallas, Tx on January 28, 1949. He graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 1967 and North Texas State University in 1971. Tom was a member of the United States Army Reserves branch of the armed services. Faithfully answering the call to duty during Operation Desert Storm. Tom’s true passion was his family. He married Carolynn Mackey in April 1975 and they raised a single son, Barrett. Tom had been self-employed for many years prior to his failing health. He loved traveling, the arts and particularly fond of music. In his early years, he was an accomplished pianist, and spent a short time with the French horn and Stringed Bass.
Tom was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church where he remained a member for many years. While involved with the church many who new Tom spoke so favorably of him with his positive personality and humor. Even throughout his life when he became unable to attend church, he remained faithful and so many good friends he had made did as well. Until his death, he still received cards and visits from his lifelong friends from church. A true and positive testimony to the value of lifelong relationships and impact for Gods Kingdom.
Survivors: Tom is survived by his son Barrett; brothers Ed Laurence and Andy Laurence.
