Thomas Lee Hill's Obituary
Thomas Lee Hill returned to his spiritual life on February 22, 2017 after a brief illness. Tom was born on July 21, 1932 to Richard Marion Hill and Johnnie White Hill. He is preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Richard and Jackie. Tom grew up in St Jo, Michigan until eight years of age and then moved to Houston and later, to Dallas. Tom graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1949 and attended SMU. He enjoyed a lengthy career in the music business opening with the legendary Melody Shop at Northpark Mall in the sixties. Following music, Tom had a career in real estate until his retirement. During his liftetime, Tom and his wife, Ardith enjoyed traveling to Europe and many other places within the US. Tom’s interests included a passion for the Dallas Cowboys, a love of music, especially, jazz, reading and running around White Rock Lake in his earlier years. Mostly, Tom enjoyed being around people whether it was family, friends, co-workers, or acquaintances. Tom never met a stranger. Following his retirement, Tom volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels and The Bridge, and transported numerous cancer patients to and from their treatments. Tom was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Ardith Ann Hill, and five children, Michelle Murray (Mark), Roxanne Nichols (Lloyd), Greg (Claire) Hill, Kelly Hill, and Jennifer Yantis (Tony). He is also survived by six grandchildren, Kolby Yarnell, Candice McLaughlin, Briea and Lacey Floyd, Jourdan Yantis, and Amber Hill. He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to the Visiting Nurses Association (Meals on Wheels) or The Bridge. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Restland Abbey Chapel with visitation starting at 2:00 pm prior the the service in the chapel.
