Thomas Keith Lowery's Obituary
Thomas “Keith” Lowery, 85, of Plano, TX went home to our Lord on November 15th, 2016 after a brief illness. Keith was born on December 4th, 1930 in Clarksville, Texas to parents Henry Wilbur and Maude Lee Lowery. Keith is survived by his 3 children, James Wesley Mercer and wife Debbie, Jeffrey Wayne Mercer and Sheri McFall. Loved as “Daddy Keith” by his grandchildren Lisa Mercer, Tracy Mercer, Whitney Mercer, Nick Schrenkeisen, Ryan Mercer and fiancé Sheilymar Sanchez, Stacie Nierling and husband Alex. Step grandchildren Morgan Funes and husband Dustin, Jordan Fryberger and husband Charles and Stephanie Lindley. Great grandchildren include Destiny Alvarez, Cassidy and Emily Rodriguez, Reagan and Oliver Nierling and Christopher Lindley, Jr. Keith grew up in Paris, TX during The Depression and graduated from Paris High School. He faithfully served his country during the Korean War and peacetime with the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations from 1950-1960. While serving with the USAF, he married the love of his life, Doris Jo Ackridge in Sherman, Texas on October 26, 1956. She preceded him in death on May 31st, 2005 after 49 years of marriage. Though our hearts break, we rejoice in knowing that they are together once again for eternity. The most important and happiest times in Keith’s life were spending time with his wife, children and dozens of friends. His proudest moments were his marriage to Doris Jo and becoming a father. He loved going out for a steak dinner, dining at his favorite hangouts and meeting new people. He enjoyed traveling around the world with Doris Jo and his children. A sweet Doberman, named Sasha, stole his heart along the way. His love will never be forgotten and he leaves behind a wonderful legacy. Please join us in celebrating Keith’s life on Saturday, November 19, 2016. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM at Restland Funeral Home followed by gravesite service at 1:00 PM at Whispering Waters Mausoleum at Restland Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM at the chapel at Christ Church located at 4516 Legacy Drive, Plano, Texas 75029. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that a donation be made in Keith’s honor to Christ Church of Plano. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
