Thomas B. Martin's Obituary
Born September 9, 1917 in Gulf Port, Mississippi and passed away February 6, 2008 in Dallas, Texas. Bill was a dedicated and loving husband and father and a friend to many throughout his 90 years. Bill was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Albert Pike Lodge. He started his career in the 1930’s working & managing restaurants. He served as a Merchant Seaman in World War II and then worked for over 40 years with Dobbs Houses, Inc. in Snack Bar, Airline Catering and Airport Concession businesses. He served in a wide range of roles including Senior VP & Assistant to President James K. Dobbs. He was a Lifetime Member of the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce. During his work at Dallas Love Field he brought the Luau Restaurant to Dallas. He loved to play golf at Brookhaven Country Club and was an avid collector of golf memorabilia. After retirement he opened Merchant Martin Antiques. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Barbara Helen Hall. He is survived by his wife, Helen M. Martin; 2 daughters, Barbara Bean and husband, Gary and Claralie Hall and husband, Mike; son, Frank Martin and wife, Wendy; 6 grandchildren, Thomas Allen Martin, Angela Brown, John T. Hall, Boyd Hall, Bryan Bean, Bruce Bean and 2 great-granddaughters, Alexis Martin and Audrey Paxton. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, February 11, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
