I will miss Mike. I was able to talk to Mike recently and enjoyed our conversations on some past things we did together. we were friends at University Park Elementary and Highland Park Jr. High. I was over at Mike's house when we went to UP several times doing things boys do like shooting our bb guns. I met his father who I liked very much. He reminded me a lot of my father. I remember in Jr. high Mike and I would pair up in football practice when the coaches had us doing tackle drills.
I remember, when we were in high school, he came by my house in his new Chevy convertible. What a beautiful car. I also remember he worked at his Dad's Cadillac dealership as a mechanic I believe during the summer.
Mike was well liked in school and was also a close friend with my good friend, Wayne Haley, when Mike and Wayne both went to the University of Texas. They stayed in contact with each other along with Lynn Kimmer. I was fortunate enough to have spoken with Mike a couple of months ago after Wayne gave me hid # & said he was ill.
I live in Tampa and wish I could have been at Mike's funeral. Prayers for him and his family. He will definitely be missed.
