Thomas Walker Rhodes' Obituary
Thomas Walker Rhodes, 88, passed away July 21, 2012 in Brenham. Services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2012 in Wildwood Chapel, with burial to follow in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Thomas Rhodes was born Dec. 23, 1923 in Abilene to Benjamin F. and Florence T. Rhodes. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WWII, and after military service lived in Dallas for more than 50 years. On May 12, 1951, he was married to Marie Harlan in Dallas, who preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 1999. Mr. Rhodes had a career in marketing, sales and management, retiring after 40 years of employment. Survivors include a son, Mark Walker Rhodes of Spokane WA.; daughter, Jan Cardenas of Dallas; daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Mike Dieterich of Brenham, and June and Lee Fischer of Larned, KS.; grandchildren: Jesse Walker Rhodes of Seattle, WA., Bethany and Emma Rhodes of Spokane, WA., Richard and Tania Cardenas of Coppell, TX., and Carolyn and Adam Rekerdres of Dallas, Eric and Larissa Dieterich of Brenham, Kyle Thomas Dieterich of Dallas, Paul and Del Fischer and Bryan and Shannon Fischer, all of Larned, KS., Shelly and Kevin Speer, of Durahm, NC, and Karen and Barry Walker of Elbert, CO. Great-grandchildren surviving are Luke and Katie Fischer, Garrett, Taralyn and Carlan Thomas Walker, Libby and Thomas Reams, and Jude, Nola, and Vassar Rekerdres of Dallas.
