Thressa "Tess" Wallace's Obituary
WALLACE, THRESSA “Tess”, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother – went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2013 at the age of 92. She was born in Malakoff, TX on May 22, 1921. Tess is survived by her only son, Jimmy Wallace and daughter-in-law Kathleen of Garland; three grandsons, John David, Grant, and her eldest Jamie and his wife Nicole; and devoted niece and nephew Marilyn and Karl Jones. She was married 51 years to her beloved husband James E. Wallace, who passed away on January 10, 2002. The couple lived in Oak Cliff for 41 years and then moved to Garland, where they built a home to be near their son and grandchildren. She was an active member of both Glen Oaks Methodist Church in Oak Cliff and St. Philips United Methodist Church in Garland. Her life achievements include the PTA Honorary Life Membership Award and a sustaining membership of the Circle Ten Council Boy Scouts of America. Tess never met a stranger wherever she went and was known for her amazing smile. She will truly be missed by her family, friends, flowers and the employees of her neighborhood Albertsons/Target. Funeral services will be held 12:30PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243. Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 6-8PM Tuesday at Restland Funeral Home.
