Thurza Louise Stewart's Obituary
STEWART, THURZA LOUISE BRIGNON “LOU” Passed away peacefully on January 8, 2012 surrounded by loving family. She was born March 13, 1922 in Ferris, Texas, the daughter of George Lawrence Brignon and Verda McKay Brignon, the sixth of eight children. Lou married the love of her life, John Roscoe Stewart, Jr. on November 22, 1941 and they were together until his untimely death in 1972. She was blessed with a large, loving family and wonderful friends. Lou was known for a quick wit, keen sense of humor, her love of reading, solving crossword puzzles, supporting the Dallas Cowboys, and all things blue and white. She will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Camille Stewart Privitt and Nancy Stewart Baird; sons-in-law, Hugo Privitt and Frank Baird; grandchildren, Elizabeth Thurmond Monroe (Greg), John Stewart Thurmond, Bonnie Baird Stabler (Matt), and Molly McKay Baird; great grandchildren, Genevieve Louise Monroe and Samantha Reese Monroe; and many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. A reception hosted by the family will be held after the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church.
