Timothy Jay Morris' Obituary
Rev. Timothy J. Morris of Plano, Texas was taken into the eternal presence of Jesus at 3:09 A.M. on December 24, 2016. His wife and daughter were with him, waiting and praying for the Lord to come for him. Rev. Morris’ faith journey with cancer ended in triumph. He is survived by his wife, Loretta K. Morris; his daughter, Lori A. Morris; his two grandsons, C.J. and Benjamin Knox and his cousin, who was like a brother, Daniel L. Smith. Timothy Morris worked as an overseas representative for a large, evangelical mission sending agency for 27 years. In their work, he and his wife traveled extensively in many parts of Asia. He served as a teacher in a small Bible college in Asia, as well as having served churches in upstate New York and South Carolina. Rev. Morris’ lifelong preoccupation with the story of the Prodigal Son from Luke 15 was culminated in the publication of his four book series about that story. He has gifted the Russian people with his translated works. Tim’s heart always beat with the persecuted church, the disenfranchised, the homeless, the addicted, and the hungry. His loving heart and gifts of service will be greatly missed. Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM. Wednesday, January 4th, 2017 at The Restland Wildwood Chapel. The Inurnment ceremony for the final disposition of his remains will be held in March. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be sent to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
