Todd Freeman's Obituary
The Freeman family’s heart breaks as we announce the passing of Todd Freeman, our beloved husband, son, brother, father, and friend to many. Todd obtained his eternal Heavenly home Saturday, July 4th, 2020. Todd will be lovingly remembered by his beautiful wife, Donja, his parents, Mike and Lana, and his precious children, Grant and Lauren and his bonus child, Mikala Turner. Todd will also be fondly remembered by his siblings, Chris and Susie, his many nieces, Taylor, Caitlin, Chayse, and Chyler, his nephews, Caegan and Trent, his bonus grandkids, Garrison and Harper, his uncles, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hix and Maxine Freeman, and maternal grandparents, Alvin and Ann Currey. The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Community Life Church in Sunnyvale, Texas. A celebration of Todd’s life will be held following visitation at 1:00 pm at Community Life Church. Burial will follow at Restland in Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Todd’s name so that monetary donations can be accepted. The fund is through Lakeside National Bank in Rockwall, Texas. Todd Michael Freeman was born April 1, 1972 in Bryan, Texas to Michael and Lana Freeman. Todd was a 1990 graduate of Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas. He joined and served in the United States Marine Corps.Todd firmly believed in the power of education. He received his Bachelors of Science in 1994 and Masters of Science degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 1997. He continued his education and graduated with a Master of Arts degree in 2012 in school counseling as well as school administration. He served Rockwall ISD for 14 years as a teacher at Quest Academy. In 2012, Todd joined his best friend and began serving the athletes of Rockwall High School as the Assistant Golf Coach. Additionally, he helped by working the football games at Wilkerson Sanders Stadium and helped with the clock for the Rockwall basketball games. Todd had a total of 21 years in public education and investment into tomorrow’s future. He adored his family, and loved spending time with them, especially his kids, Lauren and Grant. He was a devoted father, who provided for, and protected his family. He never missed an opportunity when given, to go home to eat lunch with his kids. He was blessed to experience an unbelievable love when he married his wife, Donja. The two were inseparable from the start. Todd made an innumerable number of friends throughout his lifetime, and worked tirelessly at all he set his hand to do. He was one of the most loyal and trustworthy friends. He touched the lives of thousands of young men and women, over the years as well as his friends and family. His imprint on this world will never be forgotten. He stated one time, “I love my job. I love it because I get to spend time with my friends everyday while working with kids.” To know him is to love him. Todd will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a devoted husband, loving father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and proud US Marine Corps veteran.
