Todd David Mackintosh's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Todd David Mackintosh February 13, 1963 – September 1, 2025
Todd David Mackintosh, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, left this world on September 1, 2025.
Todd is survived by his children, Autumn Mackintosh and Taylor Mackintosh Knox (Robert); grandson, John Henry Knox; his mother, Barbara Mackintosh; sister, Traci Mackintosh; niece, Amy Mackintosh Darling (Casey); great-nephews, Ben and Rhyker Darling; and his loyal dogs, Lexi and Hachi. He also leaves behind a large circle of cousins, extended family, and friends who will always cherish his memory. He is preceded in death by his brother, Scott Mackintosh, and father, Kenneth Mackintosh, with whom we trust he is already swapping stories and laughter.
A proud graduate of St. Monica School (Class of 1977) and Jesuit College Preparatory High School (Class of 1981), Todd went on to attend his beloved Texas A&M University (1981–1985). At A&M, he joined the Corps of Cadets and was part of Company E-2, the special division entrusted with caring for the university’s most famous four-legged personality, Reveille IV. Todd carried that Aggie pride with him throughout his life—faithfully watching Aggie football on Saturdays. On Sundays, he could be found cheering (and sometimes groaning) through his long-standing love/hate relationship with the Dallas Cowboys.
Todd was most proud of his children and their accomplishments. The smile that lit up his face when he spoke of them and their successes was unforgettable. And when he walked into the kitchen with his phone in hand, we knew he was about to share a funny video of his grandson, a story about his kids, or an online clip of a magician or true crime podcast. His grandson, John Henry, was truly his joy.
Todd was a man of adventure. Whether skydiving through the clouds or scuba diving deep beneath the waves, he was happiest when defying gravity. On land, he traded parachutes and oxygen tanks for horsepower, feeding his love for fast cars and motorcycles. Like his father before him, Todd could fix (or attempt to fix) just about anything and was always the first to lend a hand with a tool in it.
Music was another of Todd’s passions. He loved classic rock and could often be heard picking out a tune on either an electric or acoustic guitar. Lately his “teachers” were a long line of YouTube videos and well-loved sheet music.
Todd’s legacy is one of joy, adventure, and love. He lived life loudly and with a grin, teaching all of us that happiness is best found in the sky, in the water, or strumming along to a favorite song with the people you love nearby.
