Tom and Judy Parma's Obituary
Judy Parma; Born February 22, 1940 in Dallas, TX and passed away on December 22, 2014 after a very brief battle with cancer. Her loving husband of 54 years, Tom Parma followed her in death 3 days later on December 25, 2014 after a long battle with cancer, but also of a broken heart. Judy graduated from Hillcrest High School and started singing radio jingles in 1957. She met Tom on a blind date in 1958 and they were married in 1960, and he soon joined her in the business first as a recording engineer and then later in sales. Judy had a rich and full career singing radio jingles and television commercials, and also freelancing for jingle companies such as PAMS, CRC, Futursonic, TM Productions and JAM Productions where she was hired on staff in 1985 as a writer, producer and singer until she retired a few years.ago, Tom and Judy also owned TotalSound and Parma Productions. Judy is preceded in death by her parents Carol and Elizabeth Mansfield. She is survived by daughter, Jennifer Parma; son, David Parma and wife, Krista; brother, Ken Mansfield and wife, Nancy; and 11 beloved grandchildren. A service for both Judy and Tom will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015, 3:00pm at The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center at gifts.mdanderson.org. Tom graduated from Crozier Tech High School and was attending Oklahoma University when he met the love of his life, Judy on a blind date in 1958. They were married in 1960 and at the time she was singing radio jingles and he quickly joined her in the business first as a recording engineer and then later in sales. Tom worked for various jingle companies as a recording engineer at PAMS, CRC, Futursonic, and in sales at TM Productions and JAM Productions where he remained until he retired just a few years ago. Tom and Judy also owned TotalSound and Parma Productions. Tom is preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy Parma; parents, Oldrich and Helen Parma; and brother, Jerry Parma. He is survived daughter, Jennifer Parma; son, David Parma and wife, Krista; sister, Kathy Nemec and husband, Charlie; and 11 beloved grandchildren. A service for both Tom and Judy will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015, 3:00pm at The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
