Tom Moore's Obituary
Sherman Thomas (Tom) Moore was born on October 7, 1956, in Dallas, Texas to Sherman and Alice Moore. The family moved to Richardson in June 1957 where Tom attended RISD schools and graduated from J. J. Pearce High School in 1975. He was an accomplished guitar player and an outstanding vocalist. His love of music took him on a lifetime journey, meeting other talented artists and playing in many bands. Tom was a member of the Prestonwood Baptist Church choir and was in the annual Christmas Show for several years. He also used his God-given musical talents in a prison ministry. For the last few years of his life, Tom fought a valiant battle against the devastating effects of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). The Lord released Tom from the misery and took him home on December 9, 2016. Tom was a devoted father to his two sons, who brought him boundless joy. The birth of his grandson was a great moment of comfort. Tom Moore is survived by his sons Thomas Moore (wife Dina and son Dillan) and Joshua Moore. He is also survived by sisters Patricia Moore and Rebecca Saba (husband Andrew Saba), and brother Richard Moore (wife Susan Moore), and nieces and nephews: Allison Saba-Kennedy, Eric Saba, Tony Saba, Edward Moore and Brianna Moore.
