Tom Fagner Sneary's Obituary
SNEARY, TOM FAGNER Tom Fagner Sneary, 88, died July 8, 2007 following a lengthy illness. A native of Davenport, Iowa, he was married to the late Cora Nell Sneary for 64 years prior to her death last December. He is the past owner of Jennite Company of Texas and a longtime member of the Dallas Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) where he served on the Board of Directors. In 1975 he received the prestigious designation of Fellow by CSI. Early in his professional career, he was associated with the Studebaker Corp. and served as district manager for Ford’s Edsel division in Dallas. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor he enlisted in the Army and was discharged 11 years later with the rank of Captain. During his military service, he received the Purple Heart three times ‘ while serving in Italy. He was also honored with the Bronze Star and the Silver Star. While in the Army, he graduated from Northwestern University in 1945. An active member of Northway Christian Church, he was active in the Church Choir and was a member of the May-Friendship Class. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Survivors: Son, Loy Sneary and his wife, Helen, of Bay City; daughter, Barbara Sneary of Grapevine; grandchildren, Shannon Sneary of Austin and Adam Sneary of Bay City, also numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
