Tommi Koch Ezell's Obituary
EZELL, TOMMI KOCH Born July 29, 1931, in Poplarville, MS, passed away June 13, 2010, in Dallas, TX, where she lived for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. W. T. and Willie Mae Koch, and survived by her best friend and loving husband of 59 years, Levon; her daughter Mona and her husband Michael (Austin, TX); her son Grant and his wife Kathy, and beloved granddaughters Jordan and Jenny (Keller, TX). Tommi was the center of her family, a loyal and generous friend, and an asset to her community. She was a Camilla Queen and a cheerleader who fell in love with and married her college sweetheart – the football star. Tommi loved her family, her home, where she was the queen of clean, her poodles, and shopping. She volunteered for 30 years at Spring Valley United Methodist Church, where she formed the “Prime Timers,” a group devoted to older members of the church. She was a member of Northwood Women’s Club, an organization that helps meet the philanthropic needs of the community and stimulates the intellectual, cultural and social development of its members. Tommi loved animals and supported many organizations dedicated to their protection. Tommi was a steel magnolia, a beautiful, strong, southern gentlewoman who fought a long battle to stay with her loving family. She was surrounded by that family, when the time came to return to her heavenly father. We will miss her so much; we won’t know what to do without her. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16th, at Restland Funeral Home at 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas 75243. The memorial service will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 a.m., at Spring Valley United Methodist Church at 7700 Spring Valley Road, Dallas, TX 75254. Memorials may be made to Spring Valley United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
