Tommy DeWayne Ward, aged 68, passed away peacefully on November 3rd, 2024, in Carrollton, Texas. Born on July 17th, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, to Kenneth and Wilma Ward, Tommy lived a life full of warmth and dedication.
A proud graduate, class of 1974, of W.W. Samuell High School in Dallas, Tommy spent over 20 years working as a gate operator at the State Fair of Texas in the livestock exhibit, where he was a beloved figure. He also cherished the time he spent working as maintenance technician for over 10 years at Dairy Queen in Forney, Texas. His passion for technology was evident in his enjoyment of computers and his hobby of making DVDs by recording old western movies.
Tommy’s early years were spent working in his parents’ hardware store alongside his sister, LaNette, fostering a strong work ethic and a love for family. He also cherished the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing and water-skiing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Kenneth and Wilma Ward.
Tommy is survived by his sister, LaNette Ward, and his three cherished cats: Kit-Kat, Nosey, and Beaux. His gentle spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
