Tommy Fultz, 79, of Rockwall, Texas passed away Friday, July 8th, 2016 after complications recovering from heart surgery. His ashes were laid to rest at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, witnessed by immediate family. Tommy was born June 11th, 1937 in Dallas, Texas to Claude and Mabel Fultz. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1956 where he participated in JROTC. Having struggled with breathing issues for most of his life, Tommy was unable to participate in some of the activities he wanted to do with his friends, including playing football, but he always found a way to be included. After working at the Urbandale Drug Store during school, Tommy found a position with Glitsch in Oak Cliff where he made many friends. His dedication and teamwork during 44 years of service brought recognition from coworkers and customers alike. Family was always very important to him and he tried to keep in touch with everyone. We will all miss his Thanksgiving dinners, fried catfish and cookouts with the family. He was a great cook. 1990 marked a new chapter when Peggy Castleberry became the center of his life. They were married in Rockwall where they lived happily together on a hill overlooking Lake Ray Hubbard. As a couple, they balanced each other well, enjoyed traveling together to the shores of Maine, Rocky Mountains of Colorado and cruises to places like Alaska. His favorite places were around water and mountains, and he shared his love of nature with his children and grandchildren. After his retirement Tommy enjoyed going fishing at many area lakes with his brothers Claud, Jimmy and John. He always stayed close to his siblings, and spoke daily with his brothers and his sister June. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents William Claud and Mabel Fultz and brother Jimmy David Fultz. The Best God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you And whispered “Come to Me.” With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
