I was fortunate enough to sit in on Mac’s interview and he was joking with all of us even then. Mac was a great friend to all he came in contact with. I will miss all of his stories and hearing about how proud he was of his family. I always looked forward to talking to him everyday. It was a privilege to work with him for the last 6 years and it broke my heart to see him in so much pain over the last 6 months. My thoughts and prayers will be with the family.
Mac, you are greatly missed by me and all of facilities. I was very fortunate to work with you on almost a daily basis over the past three plus years and always enjoyed your good attitude and kidding nature. You were full of good stories about your high school athletic days, military service and past jobs that were very entertaining to listen to. It was good to know some so proud of their family, especially your daughter and grandchildren. It was very sad to watch your health decline but I never heard you complain one time and when I asked how you were doing, even when I could tell you felt bad, you would simply say “Oh I’m hanging in there”. It was an honor to know you and I won’t forget you.
Mac was married to my cousin, Barbara. We knew each other only through occasional family reunions and family gatherings over the past 45 years. During those gatherings I always looked forward to seeing him. We laughed and commiserated with each other about our careers in the oilfield and the trials and tribulations of being fathers of children that were near the same age. We also shared the same birthday. It became clear to me very soon after I met him that Mac was a genuinely good guy – open, friendly, modest, generous, intelligent and utterly devoted to Barbara and their daughter, Angela. None of this was surprising. I don’t think Barbara would have married anyone without those qualities because they are the same ones that characterize her father (Raymond), mother (Blanche), brother (Ray) and sister-in-law (Claudia). I regret that my wife and I will not be able to personally attend services in Dallas tomorrow. But we will be there in spirit and we pray that Barbara, Angela and the rest of their families will find strength and comfort in great memories.
I met Mac through work. I found him to be very pleasant as well as interesting to talk with. My sincere sympathies to the family. Herb Kadane Garland Tx
Mac, it breaks me apart to say this, but I’m happy that your past the pain and suffering. You are and will be missed by everyone, Rest peacefully my friend, Till then, ds
What a privilege it was to work with you, even for the short time I knew you! Your smile, joyful attitude, and sense of humor always put me in a better mood, and I looked forward to your visits to our corner of the office. I wish I had known more about you–I was delighted to know you knew some French and tap dancing. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. We will miss you here at Facilities.
I did not interact with Mac on a daily basis, and of course in retrospect I wish I did. Whenever we crossed each others paths at work he was always kind and funny. Though he did much more for us at Facilities, I will always remember him as the nice, older gentleman that sold sodas to everyone for 50 cents! That’s even how I would mention him on occasion to my family at home if it ever happened to come up, putting a smile on my kids faces.
At Facilities we are all connected to each other almost everyday, a family of sorts; and I will forever miss our beloved Mac. Even the people who are in our lives so fleetingly, can make big ripples… and Mac’s kindness, funny jokes, and good stories have made such a positive impact on not just me, but I know to many of us extended “Family” at Facilities. I wish Mac a peaceful rest, and strength to his family in his absence.
I will miss Mac .He was a terrific guy .Although I only knew Mac a little over 2 years , he left impressions that will last through out my life . I will miss his witty jokes and stories God bless his family and loved ones
It was such a pleasure working with Mac in Facilities Management. He was always so kind, patient, caring and had such a positive attitude and a willingness to help anyone in need.
Mac was very proud of and dearly loved his family. He had the biggest smile as his face lit up each time he spoke of them!
May each of you feel God’s amazing love and presence during this time of sorrow.
