Tony J. Bandiera Sr.'s Obituary
Bandiera, Tony J., Sr., 86, passed away peacefully Friday, July 23, 2010. Tony was born on November 29, 1923 in Morgantown, WV, the son of Italian immigrants. He attended the University of West Virginia as a pre-med student upon graduation from high school at the age of 16. At the age of 17 he joined the US Army, where he served as a Weapons Sergeant and airplane mechanic until 1945. He moved to Borger, TX where he was in the retail clothing business, as well as owning and operating an Italian Cafe named “Tony’s”. He lived in Tulsa, OK, where he was again in the retail clothing business. He moved to the Dallas area in 1972 and opened and operated Bandiera’s Clothing Store from 1982-1992. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Wanda Bandiera and children, Tony J. Bandiera Jr. of Dallas TX; Sherri Qualls and her husband, Ben of Dallas TX; Tina Voigt of Tulsa OK; Lisa Wheat and husband John of Tulsa Ok; Paul Bandiera and his wife, Mindy of Dallas TX; and his extended family, Cynda Teiple and her husband, Pat of Dallas TX; Steve Wilson and his wife, Donna of Waxahachie TX; Patty LaBar and her husband, Ron of Dallas TX; Matt Wilson and his wife, Jamie of Dallas TX; He is also survived by his brother, Father Colombo Bandiera of Morgantown WV; sister, Amelia Allegrini and her husband, Al of South-Gate KY; brother, Joe Bandiera and his wife, Jerilyn of Morgantown WV. He is also survived by 17 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchilden and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a Funeral Mass to celebrate Tony’s life, at All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadow-creek Dr. Dallas, TX 75248 on Monday July 26th at 10:30am.
