Travis Dean McPherson's Obituary
McPherson, Travis Dean, 64, of Richardson passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 27, 2007 after a year-long battle with cancer. He was surrounded with love by his wife and children. He was born on December 13, 1942 in Stephenville, Texas, son of Guy and Leta McPherson. He received his electrical engineering degree from UT Austin and his master’s degree from SMU. He went to work for Collins Radio in 1965 and retired from Rockwell Collins after 37 years. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pat; son, Mike, of Dallas; son and wife, Jeff and Ana, of Austin; daughter and husband, Julie and Scott Frieling of Dallas. He is also survived by his mother, Leta McPherson of Dublin, Texas and 4 grandchildren, Holland, Faith and Hogan Frieling and Samantha McPherson. He was preceeded in death by his father, Guy McPherson. Visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home on Monday, October 29, 2007 from 6-8pm, with a Graveside service on Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at 10am. A memorial service will be held at Community Christian Church, 1300 Holly, Richardson at 11:30am on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Christian Church, Richardson.
