Troy Lee Carter's Obituary
Troy Lee Carter, 77, Carrollton, Texas died February 21, 2019 in Plano, Texas of pneumonia. He was born November 28, 1941 to Cranford Carter and Lille Maud Carter in Abilene, Texas. He married Charmaine Soltesz on September 16, 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked with IBM for 29 years as a senior programmer, systems programmer; thus, maintaining products nationwide. He was a volunteer for Carrollton Citizen Patrol, The Special Olympics, and coached a softball and kids baseball team. He served in the Navy from 1967 to 1993 as a commander. Troy loved talking and meeting new people. He never met a stranger. He always had plenty of stories to tell you. He was a kind and caring man and if you ever need anything, he would find it at a garage sale. He loved the outdoors. He could show you some great places to go camping, fishing, scuba diving, and sailing. He had many passions or life; his true passion was singing at Karaoke. Troy loved his family and was devoted to the people he loved. We will miss his stories and jokes at our family gatherings.Troy is preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Charmaine Carter; two daughters; Courtney Lee Carter and Heather Jo Updegraff; son, Chad Ryan Carter, three sisters, Mildred Pinkston, Norma Thomas, and Cathy Porter; three brothers, Darrell Carter, Calvin Carter, and Avin Carter; and six grandchildren.Funeral Service for Mr. Troy Carter will be held Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 2:30 PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243Funeral arrangements for Mr. Troy Carter have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.
