Troy F. Conaway
May 3, 1943 - June 12, 2025
Troy Franklin Conaway, 82, of Carrollton, Texas has passed on June 12th, 2025. Born to Pearl Mae and Travis Douglas Conaway on May 3rd, 1943 in Lewisville, Texas, His life was a testament to love, family, service and faith.
A lifelong resident of Texas, Troy graduated from Lewisville High School in 1961, but spent most of his life in Carrollton, Texas. Shortly after high school, he proudly served his country as a United States Marine—a role he cherished deeply and carried with honor throughout his life.
On August 3rd, 1962 Troy married the love of his life, Emma. Together, they shared over 60 years of marriage; their union was blessed with two sons and one daughter.
Troy was a man of few words but immense heart. His quiet strength, patience, and wisdom left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He had a unique way of turning everyday moments into life lessons, always guiding with kindness and humility. His sense of humor would often shine through just when it was needed most, lightening the mood with a perfectly timed remark.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His love for his wife of 62 years, Emma, was the cornerstone of his life—a bond that inspired all who witnessed it. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and enduring love.
Troy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting and fishing, and he held a deep reverence for the mountains, where he felt closest to nature and to God. But above all, he loved his family. He was their rock, their encourager, and their proudest supporter.
"He was serious by nature, but always had something funny to say if he felt the moment was too serious, and he never for a second let you doubt his love for you or how proud he was of you. He left a mark on this earth that will never be forgotten or taken for granted, he will always be our strong brave Marine."
