Troy Jim Whitehead's Obituary
Troy J. Whitehead, 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 7, 2025. He was born on February 16, 1936, in Tylertown, Mississippi, to Troy and Carrie Whitehead, who preceded him in death.
Troy grew up in Baton Rouge and Shreveport, Louisiana, before moving to Dallas, Texas, in 1962. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, achieving the rank of sergeant. For his service, he was awarded the Korea Defense Service Medal. After completing his military service in 1956, he dedicated himself to his work and family.
A proud and longtime member of the Local 100 Plumbers and Pipefitters, Troy was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. He was a dedicated worker, always willing to go the extra mile and known for being dependable to a fault.
Troy loved the outdoors and could often be found working the land, fishing, biking, or camping. He had a knack for fixing just about anything around the house and was famous for his ability to "rig" creative solution
