Troy Gene Wilhite's Obituary
Troy Gene Wilhite, 96, of Garland, Texas, passed away in New Braunfels, Texas on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
Troy spent his life working hard and caring deeply for those around him. A United States Army veteran, he served his country with honor before beginning his long and dedicated career as a truck driver. He carried that same sense of duty, responsibility, and steady strength throughout every part of his life. At home, he was happiest working on his Chevy pickup or giving his grandkids rides on his riding lawn mower — simple moments that became cherished family memories.
Troy enjoyed a good Dr Pepper and the comfort of familiar routines. He lovingly devoted himself to his late son, Troy Michael, providing care and unwavering affection throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Wilhite, with whom he shared a wonderful 71 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughters: Judy Ringo and her husband, Buddy Ringo, of Garland, Texas; and Kim Stanley and her partner, Blain Murray, of New Braunfels, Texas. In addition, Troy is survived by his sister, Edith Sanders of Irving, Texas.
Troy leaves behind a proud and loving legacy through his grandchildren: Luke Ringo; Clint Ringo and his wife, Samantha Ringo; Ashley Mills and her husband, Justin Mills; and Billy Stanley. He was further blessed with great-grandchildren Lucas Ringo, Gavin Ringo, Blake Ringo, Brayden Mills, Liam Mills, and Grey Mills each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
He is preceded in death by his son, Troy Michael Wilhite; his parents, Arbie S. Wilhite and Dora Ellen Karney Wilhite; his brother, Jerrel Wilhite; and his sisters, Evelyn Specht, Grace McClendon, and Beulah Godfrey.
Troy will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His service — both to his country and to those he loved — will never be forgotten.
