Trudy Joyce Chandler's Obituary
Trudy "Joyce" Chandler passed away unexpectedly on June 12, 2026, at the age of 74.
Born on December 26, 1951, in Potter County, Texas, Joyce lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and service to others. She had a servant's heart and a generous spirit, finding joy in caring for family, helping neighbors, advocating for animals, and quietly assisting friends in need. In her younger years, Joyce was an accomplished competitive ballroom dancer and treasured the friendships and memories she made. She was a devoted animal advocate, volunteering her time and supporting organizations dedicated to animal welfare. Her beloved cat, Moze, was a constant companion and a reflection of her lifelong love and compassion for animals. She was also an active Republican who generously volunteered her time in support of the causes she believed in and was a faithful member of Dallas Baptist Church. Joyce was preceded in death by her former husband, longtime companion, and best friend, Larry Chandler. She lovingly cared for Larry during his final illness until his passing in 2024.
Joyce loved her neighborhood and the friendships she built over the years. Whether tending to her many plants, enjoying a cold drink in her driveway while visiting with neighbors, or lending a helping hand, she made people feel welcome and cared for.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a local no-kill animal shelter or animal rescue organization in Joyce's memory.
Joyce will be remembered for her caring heart, generous spirit, and the quiet acts of kindness that touched the lives of so many
