Truitt Dale Eckeberger's Obituary
Truitt Dale Eckeberger, 95, of Athens, Texas, peacefully passed away December 10, 2023.
Dale was born in Sardis, TX on October 3, 1928. After graduating from Waxahachie High School in 1945, he lived in Waxahachie, TX where he began his career with A.B. Chance Co. until moving and settling in Richardson, TX in 1956. He joined Kemp Engineering Co. shortly thereafter and remained with Kemp until his retirement. Upon retirement, he and Flo built on land his father purchased in the early 50’s and spent his remaining years raising cattle and living the “country” life.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Real Truman Eckeberger and Mabel Woodring Eckeberger of Waxahachie, TX, his sister, Nita Fern Eckeberger Farmer of Ft. Worth, TX and his son Michael Dale Eckeberger of Plano, TX. He is survived by his wife: Florence Ingraham Eckeberger of Athens, TX; his children: Pamela Eckeberger Dennis of Forney, TX, Brian Wayne Eckeberger and daughter-in-law Melinda Syrios Eckeberger of Plano, TX, William Kyle Mimms of Murchison, TX, and Ginger Kay Mimms Mathews and husband John of Atlanta, GA; Grandchildren: Hugh Alexander Dennis and wife Rachel Halsdorf Dennis of Surprise, AZ, Bryce Truman Eckeberger and wife Ashley Williams Eckeberger of Flower Mound, TX, Austin James Dennis and wife Dustine Blake Dennis of Forney, TX, Cole Menelaos Eckeberger and wife Danielle Smith Eckeberger of Celina, TX, Jake Hamilton Eckeberger of Little Elm, TX, Joseph Carter Hinsch of Atlanta, GA, William Garrett Mimms of Marlin, TX and Morgan Rae Mimms of Bastrop, TX; Great Grandchildren: Brookelyn Shae Dennis, Mackenzie Jo Dennis, Zoe Ray Dennis, Joshua Timothy Dennis, Cohen Menelaos Eckeberger, Finley Nicole Eckeberger and Maximiliano Roman Mimms-Moreno.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Whispering Waters Garden, Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX.
