Mr. Tye James Parrish's Obituary
PARRISH, TYE JAMES, 26 died May 24, 2009. Most loving husband, son, brother, cousin, uncle, nephew, friend. Survived by his wife, Sarah Tucker Parrish, parents Nancy and Patrick Turner, and Jeffery Parrish, sister and brother-in-law Madeline and Mark Frost, sister, Abby Turner; and grandfathers James C. Hardwick and Jerry J. Parrish, nephew Maximus Frost, and in-laws Colleen and David Tucker, sister-in-law Katharine Ann Tucker and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceded in death by grandmothers Elva Pegel Hardwick and Jean Parrish. Often referred to by his family as “expert in everything”, he was an avid musician, cyclist, hunter, fisherman and brilliant engineer. Tye was a 2000 graduate of Booker T. Washington HSPVA where he was a percussionist in various musical ensembles. A 2005 Marine Engineering Technology graduate of Texas A & M University Galveston, he was a squadron leader, PTO, and drill instructor in the Navy Corps of Cadets. Tye was a former employee of Raytheon and Cisco Systems. At the time of his death, he was employed by Technip USA, Inc. in Houston, TX. Tye and Sarah were members of St. Rita Parish where they were married in 2007. In light of Tye’s two-year battle with Synovial Sarcoma, the family asks that donations be made to the Sarcoma Center at M. D. Anderson in Houston. Donations can also be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the ALS Association, two other organizations close to Tye’s heart. A rosary and viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Chapel in Restland Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Restland Cemetery.
