Ubong Gloria Assam's Obituary
It's with a heavy heart we announce the passing to glory of our daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunty, friend, and veteran Ubong Assam Edohoukwa.
She passed away peacefully on Thursday 26th January at the age of 53, in her residence in Dallas, Texas, surrounded by her family.
Ubong (fondly called Bongie by family and close friends) was born on 20th June 1969 in Lagos - Nigeria. She was raised by her parents Frederick and Florence Assam and was the eldest of her seven siblings (Idong, Itoro, Mandu, Emem, Mmayen and Odie). She played the role of their second mum.
Ubong was preceded in death by her mother, her husband (Emmanuel), daughters (Njoh, Idara and Anem), her siblings and extended family.
She was an active Baha’i all her life and a member of the McKinney and Dallas Baha’i communities. She also enjoyed attending the service at the Apostolic Church, Richardson TX with her husband.
Ubong lived a bubbly life. She enjoyed planning and attending parties with her family and friends and was often referred to as the ‘life-of-the-party’ by many of her friends. She loved travelling, cooking, dancing, music, being of service and spending time with family.
She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
A funeral and interment service for Ubong will be held on Saturday, 4th February 2023 at 2pm, at the Memorial Chapel, Restland Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
This will be followed by refreshments at 4.30pm at Slate at II Creeks, 2701 Custer Parkway #905, Richardson, TX 75080.
