She was an accomplished cook wife and mother who spent countless hours creating delicious meals for family, friends, and neighbors. Anyone and everyone was welcome at the kitchen table anytime. She involved her children, and then grandchildren, in all of her kitchen activities, which insured that her best recipes would survive her, especially her holiday gravy! Some of the very best memories and funny stories happened at her kitchen table. Many of the families that grew up together on their street, still stopped in to visit The Larson?s. In a busy fast paced world where people are following fad diets and eating fast food and take out, you could always count on Ursula to warm your tummy with an enjoyable home cooked meal. Her yard was always neatly trimmed and groomed. She was meticulous about having a beautiful home inside and out. Her eye for colors and design came through even with her landscaping. She took pride in her accomplishments which were many. People stopped by to admire the updates on the outside of their house ? tastefully done yet eye catching and beautiful. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She collected and was given many meaningful Christmas tree ornaments over the years. Some were three decade old hand made masterpieces from the kids when they little which she kept neatly wrapped and stored to use every year. Her grandson was named after long deceased father and her middle name was carried on through her children and grandchildren. Russ & Ursula took care of each other. They got along and were always together. In spite of her delicious cooking, fresh strong tasty coffee, and homemade goodies, she kept her waist tiny and trim. She dressed very stylishly and modern. She wore beautiful shoes, clothes and many fashionable items. She enjoyed shopping, designing, dressing, and wearing modern things. It looked good on her, she could pull it off. She was also known for taking care of things. She was not careless with her things and kept her household in excellent shape, updated, and very clean. She was clean and hard working. She was still mowing her own lawn into her 70?s. Her personality was direct. You knew where you stood with her with a no nonsense approach. She had deeply ingrained beliefs and stood her ground. She was supportive of her children and grandchildren and didn?t judge others. She was level headed, intelligent, strong, proud and even sometimes a little stubborn. ? Her career included two decades of designing custom clothes with hand picked gorgeous beautiful fabrics. She was incredibly talented, so very good at that. The clothes were intricate, made by hand. All originals. She made the clothes to fit the person, their coloring, accenting their attributes, their taste and personality. In summary, she made clothes that helped people look their best and feel at ease and confident in what they were wearing. She was a personal stylist long before there was such a thing. Or perhaps ?Stylist? was created after her years of successful clothing designs. She was definitely modern, trendy and ahead of her time with the styles. With her creativity she also had a head for business. Thinking clearly and was not impulsive. She lived a full life celebrating her 75th birthday together with all of her family surrounding her. She was close with her sister, married over 5 decades, blessed with fertility raising four fantastic kids, and enjoyed time with her 8 grandkids. Lori L.
