Valerie Jones Messick passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. She celebrated 94 years on this Earth.Valerie was born on March 7, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to parents: John and Naomi Condon. First and foremost, Valerie was a wonderful mother. She was a very talented, patriotic and artistic lady who loved to cook, play bridge, paint, read and spend time with her family. Her strong faith in God sustained her throughout her life and her love of reading was the quality that she passed along to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Valerie was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Jones whom she married in 1942; her second husband, Lee Carroll Messick whom she married in 1978; sisters: Virginia Kelley and Naomarie Lawarne; brothers: John Condon Jr. (Jack), Paul, Thomas and Anthony Condon; beloved son, Michael Richard Jones and beloved grandson, Henry J. Lohrman IV (Joe).She is survived by her daughters: Patricia Jones Lohrman of Dallas, TX and Sarah Jones Nelson and husband, Edward (deceased) of Princeton, NJ; son, Andrew Neil Jones of Dallas, TX; her three grandchildren: Dara Michelle Lohrman Vent and husband George of Rockwall, TX, Amy Catherine Lohrman Hall and husband David of Ft. Walton Beach, FL.; and Valerie Ruth Lohrman Bishop and husband, Troy of Flower Mound, TX; her 10 great grandchildren: Leah Blake and fiancée Nicholas Wheatley, Kate, William and Anna Branson; Ethan, Adam, Lydia, Noelle, Samuel and Abigail Bishop and a host of numerous other loving family.A funeral service for Valerie Jones Messick will commence at 12:30 pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018 in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland.
