Mr. Van Hung Pham's Obituary
Hung (Hong) Van Pham, age 47, of Murphy, a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, and son, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 20, 2023, at Orange Beach, Alabama, surrounded by his family.
The visitation will be held from 9am-7pm, with his family presence only between 3pm-7pm. Memorial service and cremation will be held 2pm, Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Restland Funeral Home. A celebration of life reception will follow at the Pham’s residence.
Hong was born May 4, 1976, in Laos, the son of Phuoc Van Pham and Ha Chan. Hong and his parents spent 4 years as refugees in Thailand. In 1980, his family along with his grandmother, uncles and relatives were sponsored to start a new life in Dallas, Texas. Hung graduated from North Dallas High School in 1995 and attended South Methodist University. On March 18, 2000, Hong married his wife, Pam Pham. He dedicated his professional career in the information technology industry and had been a Senior System Engineer at Interstate Batteries since 2016. He was a big kid at heart and enjoyed spending free time doing anything remote control, he was a regular at all local RC tracks; helping with his children’s extra-curricular activities, cheering at Pam’s running races, road tripping, and spending time with family. Hong never met a stranger, and was always ready to lend a helping hand, and would light up the room with his presence.
Hong is preceded in death by his father and his grandmother.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 23 years, Pam Pham; his daughter, Ashlynn Pham, his son, Jaidynn Pham; his mother, Ha Chan; his sisters, Thi Pham and husband Richard Nors, Judy and husband Rocky Castanon; his brother, Jonathan Pham and wife Laura; 12 nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers are Jonathan Pham, Andrew Nors, Thomas Nors, Nathan Khaodeunaepheng, Michael Sakdavong, and Souk Sourivong. Honorary pallbearers are Jaidynn Pham and Eli Nors.
