I met Vance many years ago shortly after I met my bride, Vanessa. He and his bride, Sandra, said yes when I asked both of them if I could marry their daughter, so I'll always be grateful for that!
He set a great example for all of us as a man who was committed to his church, his spouse, and his country. You sometimes learn things about another person after they pass and while there were a few things I didn't know, Vance was as genuine as he was kind. He was always willing to help others and did so many times. In his role as grandfather to Campbell and Reagan, I only wish they'd known him longer prior to his stroke, but those young men are fully aware of his love and support for them.
If we had more people like Vance Bridges in the world, it would be a better place, yet we know he is alive in Christ. May all who knew him retain a little piece of him in their hearts and be reflected in their actions.
