Varghese Thazathoppil Oommen's Obituary
Mr. Varghese Thazhathoppil Oommen (Pappachen) was born on March 25th, 1943 in Mezhuveli, Kerala, India. He was the sixth child to the late P.V. Varghese and the late Aleyamma Varghese. He was known to his family as Kochuncle. After completing his studies in engineering in Mumbai, he moved to Dubai. He then married Elizabeth (Mercy) Abraham Oommen on February 14, 1972 at Holy Innocent Mezhuveli Orthodox Church. After living and working in Dubai for 21 years as a drafting engineer, they moved to the United States in 1984 and settled in San Antonio, TX. They were blessed with three children, Prem, Pamela and Peter. Pappachen made everyone around him laugh. When he met anyone, he made them feel like the center of the universe and would make them smile from ear to ear. He loved watching the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to everyone who knew him. Pappachen was called to his heavenly abode on Saturday, October 27th, 2018.
