Velma Alma Allumbaugh's Obituary
Born on February 23, 1922 and passed away peacefully from family’s arms into the loving arms of Jesus on August 12, 2008. She grew up and graduated high school in Valley Mills, TX. She moved to Dallas and started her career as a bookkeeper in the 1940’s. She was in the woman’s business sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, for many years. Velma was affectionately regarded as’ Nonnie’ by her grandson. Velma was a member of East Dallas Christian Church where she taught Sunday School and was Sunshine Chairman for her bible class. She lovingly babysat in the Dallas area. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Allumbaugh. She is survived by her son, David Allumbaugh and his wife Diana; grandson, Curtis Allumbaugh; niece, Patti Baird and her husband Mark; nephew, Rick Ford and his wife Nancy; and special daughter, Cynthia Real and her husband David, and their daughter, Aspen. Special thanks is extended to Dr. Koney, Dr. Chittoor, and Dr. Ferris, along with the 3rd floor north nursing staff at Doctor’s Hospital for their compassionate care. Visitation will be from 6 to 8PM Friday August 15, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be Saturday August 16, 2008 in Restland Memorial Chapel.
