Velma L. Jones, 77, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in Plano, Texas. She was born on August 16, 1942 to Raymond Lermon and Burena Jean Leach Lermon in Dallas, Texas. She married Bobby J. Jones on November 23, 1962 in Mesquite, Texas. She worked at Cigna Insurance for 15 years where she retired. Velma was a loving daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and cousin. She was saved and of the Baptist faith. She loved and defended her faith and family.
Velma is survived by her husband, Bobby J. Jones of 57 years; her sons and their families, Dr. Rev. Col. Daymond R. Jones, and his wife Kathy and their son James J. Jones Jr. of Dallas, Texas. Son, Michael W. Jones and his daughter, Marina D. Jones; her brother, James "Butch" Lermon of Odessa, Texas, Fred Lermon of Wildorado, Texas and Ray Lermon of Stratford, Texas and many other family members. She left us on May 26, 2020 to go be with her savior Jesus Christ.
