Helen Cantrell
Helen: Her life revolved around her family. My mother loved her husband and her children more than anything. She didn't work outside the home until the later years of her life. When we left school each afternoon, we always knew where our mother was – at home waiting for us with a plate of delicious cookies or pies. And she loved to cook – her roast beef and her fried chicken were the best. She took great care of us, but she was also concerned for our spiritual lives. Our mother taught us values by living her values every day. I never heard my mother say an unkind word about anyone nor did I ever hear her gossip. She spent many nights walking the floor, praying for her children, and she spent many nights on her knees praying for her daughters' salvation. I am convinced that I owe my spiritual salvation to my mother because the Lord hears her prayers.
