Vern L. Hammack's Obituary
Vern Leroy Hammack, 94, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 in Lewisville, Texas. He was born to Roy and Iva “Kit” Hammack on January 26, 1927 in Bee House, Texas.
Following graduation, he married Evelyn Graham and worked on the family farm. Vern proudly served the United States Army during the Korean War. After the war, he worked at Gates Rubber Company.
Vern was a salesman at heart and could have sold snow to an Eskimo. He dedicated 40 years selling farm equipment at Connally Implement Supply Company and Farm Implement Company. He worked until the age of 83 as a salesman in Frisco for Six & Mango Equipment. It was rare for him not to work several jobs at a time. In addition, Vern proudly served as Deacon in the Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, First Lieutenant Harold (Lee), brother Werna and five sisters, Vanita, Wanda, Cleda, Emma “Boonie” and Beverly “Doma”.
Vern is survived by his wife of 25 years Marcy Hammack, her daughter Julie Palmer and husband, Joe of Coppell, daughter Elaine Sonnet and husband, Bernie, of Lewisville and son Roger Hammack and wife, Paula of Mesquite; five grandchildren Teather, Brandi, Ryan, Jason and Justin. Vern is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
