Vernon A. Jolly's Obituary
Vernon Alexander Jolly, 88, of Farmers Branch, Texas, passed away Friday night, April 29th, 2016 at home due to Alzheimer’s. Vernon was born June 2nd, 1927 in Greenwood, Mississippi to the late Cober Eston and Gladys Jolly. He was the eldest of eleven children, two brothers preceded his death. Vernon served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. He was a Mason and Shriner. He worked in the Elevator Industry until his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed fishing, football and Las Vegas. Vernon was preceded in death by his second wife Nida. He is survived by seven sisters, one brother, his daughter, stepdaughter, two grandsons, three step granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be an open viewing Monday 9AM – 8PM, May 2nd, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home Dallas. He will be buried Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016. There will not be any services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
