Vernon is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Young and husband Maurice, Margaret Moore and husband Monty, and Linda Schmidt; son, James Schmidt; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Charles Schmidt; and sisters, Genivieve Thompson and Helen Miller.
