SMITH, VERNON EUGENE born December 8, 1922 in Morganton, North Carolina has passed away February 26, 2013 in Plano, Texas. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Catherine Bouly Smith. Vernon is survived by son, Vernon Smith and his wife, Elaine of Plano, Texas; stepson, Costa Colassis and his wife, Ritsa of Athens, Greece; grandchildren, Alex Smith, Kelly Smith, Vyron Colassis and Lily Colassis; great-grandchildren, Jason, Eric, Philippa, and Loli of Athens, Greece; sisters, Ann Thompson of Sanford, North Carolina and Jane Hord of Morganton, North Carolina. Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 12:30 PM at Restland Wildwood Chapel .
