Vicente "Vic" Almerido's Obituary
Vincente Almerido, 67, passed away surrounded by family on October 6, 2023.
Vic was born on December 22, 1955, and raised by his father Vicente Almerido and mother Natividad Almerido in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. He and his family moved to Dallas, Texas in March of 1990.
Vic first met his wife Soledad Almerido in the Summer of their Junior year of high school, in Manila, Philippines. They didn’t start dating until they were in college together. They were married on January 25, 1980, and were married 43 years. Together they had a daughter, Christine Gunn, and a son, Juan Carlos “Muncho” Almerido.
Vic studied Chemical Engineering at Ateneo de Manila. He left the Philippines in 1990 to move to the United States of America with his daughter, son, and wife. Vic went on to work as a Regional Credit Manager for Murphy Hoffman Company in Dallas, Texas.
Vic valued excellence in education and had an unparalleled work ethic. He had a deep appreciation for luxury and beauty. He loved eating a beautiful meal with his family. He was a loving father. He was a doting grandfather to his grandson, Bulan.
Vic is survived by his wife, Sol Almerido and siblings Thelma Arcilla, Efren Arcelo, Edith Renfro, Beatriz Jacob, and Mario Almerido. He lives on through his son Juan Carlos “Muncho” Almerido, his daughter Christine Gunn, and his grandson Bulan Gunn. A viewing will be held at Restland Funeral Home at 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243. It will go on for two days:
Wednesday October 18th from 5-8pm.
Thursday October 19th from 5-8pm with vigil at 6pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church at 8017 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX 75225 on Friday, October 20th at 11am, followed with a reception.
Inurnment will be held at Restland Cemetery on Saturday, October 21 at 11am.
